Poudre de Verre Leaves

Annette Tamm’s surname translates as “oak tree” in Estonian, so her love of trees is an ingrained one that naturally reveals itself in her fused glass endeavors.  One form of expression utilizes the process of Poudre de Verre: heating colored glass powders into leafy, wafer-like dimensions.  These leaves are overlapped in the kiln to fuse together and then slumped over a form, resulting in a leafy reminder of the towering forms from which they fell.
